Fields Required for one Usergroup, but not for another
I'm trying desperately to figure out a way to achieve the following:
Our client's forum has two groups of members: 1. Regular members 2. Advisory Board members Both groups have the same exact permissions and preferences. Right now we just have them merged into one usergroup, Registered Users, however the issue we are having is as follows: The forum uses profiles with many required fields. These fields must be filled out by all Regular members before they can use the forum which is easily accomplished with the default tools inside vBulletin. The problem arises when it comes to the Advisory Board members. These members are not required to filled out all of the profile fields as they should not show up in searches for some of the specific required fields. I thought I'd be able to find the code, with help from this site, where it checks the required fields and redirects a user to their profile to fill in any empty required fields but I haven't had much luck there. So, I've been trying to think of other ways to accomplish this and thought that maybe someone had a script that allowed a specific usergroup to bypass some of the required fields? Anyone? |
