Although I'm fairly certain I suggest that you wait for vB's official word. You may also consider using their Support Ticket if they don't get back to you within 24 hours.
For myself, I wanted to use 1 database for multiple domains. I'll need separate vB licenses since the only common denominator will be the user logins. It has been done before but 1) It's not officially supported by vB and 2) I don't know exactly how to do it...Then again, I didn't look deeply into it (yet). |

<font color="darkgreen">Well I have probably about 35% of the code memorized as I have been writting a large product for vB but I havent got into this area yet.
I had found something before on this site for what appeared to be sharing of cookies between the two domains to persist common logins. Still searching again for it. I just want it so that all users will remain logged in to either domain. I really think it should be ok as its nothing more then different domain names for the same database and same forums.</font> |

Yup, that's the key. What you want to do is fine (:up with 1 vB license but for myself, since there will be multiple vB installs for every instance I'll need a separate license for them. |

I will call vB.com tomorrow as by the time they get around to my ticket it will be morning and the phone lines will beopen.
I mean what does everyone do if they have ... mysite.com and also mysite.net and want to retain the domain extensions and not use redirects etc? I would think that since everything is using the same install, server, database etc it would be ok but I will verify and post tomorrow with their official answer. Thanks for confirming my assumptions. I found the addon I mentioned earlier but it wont work for me with my multiple domain/same site logon issue. . https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=98233 http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...124#post971124 |
