I've installed downloadsII on a vBulletin 3.68, so I'd think it must be possible, but I don't have any idea how to do this!

The link that you gave isn't working for me. Did you test it out? Maybe the site is just really, really busy, but it just sits there for me.

Oh ... yeah, may be ... the surver in deed is very busy when all the US-users start to surf the web!

It's the biggest Sims2-Download-Page worldwide so the server has a lot to do!
