Back in 2004, the forum that I currently run experienced some configuration-related problems, and over 400,000 posts ended up forum-less. They are currently all stuffed in an 'Archive' forum. Is there some way to restore all these posts and place them back into their own forums?
Have a look for yourself: http://www.battleforums.com/forums (at the bottom - last forum) Is there a software or script that can automatically search up certain keywords in first thread posts, and move them to a selected forum? Will I have to do this manually or is this possible to be done with a script? Appreciated ![]() Thank you, Donny |

If they are in an Archive forum, then they are not "forumless".
Why can't you move them like any other thread/forum? |

I am fully capable of moving the threads. I'm just looking for a way to ease the process, as there are over 45 thousand threads to move at the moment :S.

Sorry, I don't think I explained my situation correctly. These threads do not all belong in the same place. Some belong in one forum, while others belong elsewhere. They are just all mixed together and placed in the 'archive' forum. I'd like to move them back into their own forums (there are 5-6).
Thank you, Donny |

Perhaps you can do some query like 'set forumid=newforumid where thread.forumid=archive.forumid and thread.post contains ('whatever word')' (no, that is not a real statement in any way, but hopefully it gets the point across).
I would test it by first creating a 'fake' forum and using that for where to move the threads. Then go through them visually and then you can mass move them from that forum to the correct forum. So, the 'fake' forum is kinda an intermediate forum. |
