There are many factors in this, adding a cache system like xcache, moving the search over to mysql or sphynx from the default vbulletin, i for one never use similar threads, but it can also depend on how many extra addons you have installed or any other custom programs that are integrating into the vbulletin system.
More RAM is always a good thing, but then again, if your not using swap now then RAM isnt a issue. Drives also play a factor in this, the new SAS is prolly the best option at this point. Also moving your DB to it's own server with a juicy amount of RAM. |
