right click on the red x, select properties and it will give you an image location.
Check to see where the image is hosted from that. |

Should I move the images to the filesystem is the movement from one storage type to another run any risks?

I would try - repairing the attachment table; moving them out of the table into the filesystem and then back again; checking the source code to see where these red X images are. That is what I would do first.
