Changing Forum Directories
Hello,
Currently my forum and all its "greatness" is located in my /www/ folder. I would like to move it to /www/forum folder. I want to check with you first before i do it. Here is what I was thinking. In the admin area where it ask where is forum located change that to www.koomid.com/forum and then copy all the files there as well? Please advise. Thanks Adam |

I've done that for someone before and it worked ok with no extra configuration needed

you have 3 steps to do to make it very easy to do:
1- if your attachments are on file system, switch to database.. same for avatars and profile pics etc. this is to avoid error in your own changes... this is also the technique when you want to move your forum to a different location. 2- check your vBulletin Options where the url have to be edited...remember them, do not edit them until you're sure. 3- once you are sure, edit the configs and switch the directory... |

Thanks for the full explanation Nexialys, I couldn't quite think of the full proper way, I managed to drag and drop the folder via FTP, which adjusted it all accordingly
