Is there a mod that would let me ask a simple yes or no question for COPPA compliance rather than asking for an exact date of birth? I think many potential users find asking for their DOB intrusive and cancel the registration without completing it.
Ive searched the mods forum without any luck. |

I've seen some forums that use a progressive date and simply ask if the registrant was born after a certain date, which which on that date a yes means at or over 18 or under 13 etc.
Can't recall a VB forum with that yet though. Not sure if it would help but in case someone else is interested, here is a link with the actual requirements. FTC COPPA Requirement Guidelines Good Luck! |

It's better to allow people who are registering to enter their own birth dates if you enable COPPA registration. That will place the responsibility on the registry's end. Whether or not you use COPPA registration, you should include in your privacy policy that you will not collect or obtain information from members you actually know are under the age of 13.
