Major Additions - Video Gallery - Share Videos! (From Any Website)

NOTE: I will take this hack out of it's BETA stage soon! Please report any features you would like to see, or any bugs that you encounter!

This hack will add a video gallery to your forums accessible at the location: www.yourforumurl.com/forums/videogallery.php

To add a video users must specify a unique videoID code and select a "Video Type" from the list of available options. This hack comes included with "Video Types" for Google Video and YouTube. A "Video Type" consists basically of just the Embedding code for that video sharing site with each instance of the Unique Video ID replaced with the text: $code. When the video is displayed the text $code is replaced with the UniqueID specified by the user who added the video.

You can add new video types to accommodate almost any video sharing website. There are detailed instructions written within the hack to help you through this process.

Templates have been tweaked for visual appeal.
Comment Writer and Admins can now delete comments.

1) A means to move videos from one category to another.

hi, i had the issue with certain usergroups being unable to add. I made a usergroup called Video Mods and gave them full mod access and corrected the videogallery admin options to let them add videos but they couldn't the best way to resolve this that i found is go into the user you want to be able to have add the videos and make their primary group the group that can add videos for example, i had 1 registered user that i wanted to give special permissions to add videos (so i made video mod usergroup) if i left that user's primary usergroup as registered and added them to the video mod group they were unable to add videos. i had to change their primary usergroup to video mod and put their secondary usergroup as registered. hope that helps a bit.

now, i'm also unable to move categories, just comes up blank. i'm also having another issue, my videos that i'm uploading aren't loading in the correct order. is there a way to change the order that videos are displayed in inside a category?

Indeed it only works with primary usergroups. The permission system is very very simplistic in this mod, really it was only meant to ban the banned usergroup, allow video adding access to registered users, and give admin powers to administrators and moderators.

is there a way to change the display order of a video once it's been placed in the category? cuz mine are going all out of order when i start adding them (the videos that is)

The videos should be listed in two lists. One is listed from most recently added to least recently added, and the other is ordered from highest rated to lowest rated.

There is no way to change the order of the videos manually.

Is there any quick way to show the latest (one or more) videos in a module somewhere in the forums or in VBadvanced?

As this is classified as beta, is there any way that in the final release u can add it so that you can move the videos up or down inside a category? i really like this mod but with the amount of videos that would be a feature that would really be nice

Just found a problem, my videogallery is huge... is there a form to show all the videos? or at least put them in alphabethic order??..

i think this is just becuase of it is still in beta mode.. once it stable i guess it be better a lot.
and beside please help me fix with the video counts...

I couldn't find any fix for the video counts. We're just waiting for the author to come up with the final version, hopefully it will be fixed there. For now, I just removed entirely the "video count" column :P
