Is removing meta info allowed?
As in, changing it to this:
Code:
<meta name="generator" content="vBulletin" /> Code:
<meta name="generator" content="vBulletin 3.6.8" /> |

You would be better off asking at vb.com, but I am 99% sure that your allowed to do that. Since you are only removing the version number.

That's not a bad idea. I'm just hesitant to register there since I don't think I'd use that forum much.

Go ahead and remove the version number. You won't be the first to have done that.

You can remove it if you want, but it doesn't really achieve much.
Some people seem to think it somehow makes their site more secure, but it doesn't really help. |

If a hacker knows of a vulnerability to a certain version, they could simply Google the version number, finding a forum to execute the hack on. I, personally, think it's a good idea if you're running an older version of vBulletin.
An alternative would be to replace it with an image. |
