I am going to be modding my vBulletin 3.6.8 heavily, with template modifications, mods from here, and some mods of my own. Now come upgrade time (vb 3.7) my site is pretty much screwed right? I don't want to upgrade because all my template modifactions and mods will be ruined.
Is it safe to run my vB 3.6.8 for as long as my site exists? Or will it be hacked in the future? ![]() |

If any security vulnerabilities are found in 3.6.8 after the 3.6.x series is out of development, the vBulletin team will still provide a patch or an upgrade for it.

Just because you have a lot of modifications, doesn't mean upgrading is not a possibilities. Depending on the extent of your template modifications, updating the templates could be a very tedious process but still possible.

Have a look at previous release announcements like this one:
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...00#post1434100 Should give you a idea as too what you would have had to do to keep secure if you didn't want to do the full upgrade. |
