Well i am trying to figure out what route to go. I don't need a lot of server resources. See below. I have used shared servers before, and they seem to have times when they crawl or at least the ones i have looked into. who i could find that was cheap. I want something good this time.
I HAVE to be able to have edit globals ON for my shopping cart to work. I know a lot of host will not let you turn it on a shared account. I also of course have a vbb with vbseo running on this.
Any suggestions on what i should do. I make a living with my online store not vbb forum, so uptime and descent speed is a key.
Google analithics says 200-300 people per a day. AWstats says 600-800 a day. Not sure who to believe. 40000 hits a day is my most. Most bandwith i have gone thur is 6gb in a month. So its not a big site but my store keeps food on my table.
I am on a vps right now. Its a friends box who gave me free hosting on a shared server with no load issues, Mine was the biggest site. He moved me over to a vps because of issues with edit gloabls on. My ssl cert expired 30+ days ago and i can't ever get ahold of him to install it, and i am loosing sells over it. So i need to get a new site going and ssl installed asap.

I think VPS plan will be the best suited for your site as you will get full root access on your VPS, and will have a dedicated environment to work with.
Well id beleive google before AWStats, they always seem to be way off from reality. Your site with only that many visits a day, unless you plan to do alot of expansion a nice shared hosting account should be able to handle it just fine. An account that use's cpanel gives you the ability to install your own SSL cert so you will not have to wait for anyone to install it for you, Let me know if you need further help or assistance you can email me if im not around the board steve@lighti.net
If you plan to grow ALOT within 6months time, it may benefit you to go with a dedicated or VPS offer, but if you dont plan to double/triple you numbers within 6 months a good shared account should hold you, until you are ready to upgrade and your traffic/sales warrants it.
