I want to allow my mods and super mods to have partial admin power.
Specifically i would like them to create forums and sub forums, move forums and alter user profiles. How can this be done? I know it is possible as I was a moderator on another forum and one time the admins allowed the mods to create and move forums to help out with a forum restructure. when i went into the admin panel then, i could only see half of the possible admin options. Please advise. cheers --------------------------------------- EDIT: after further research I have figured out how to do this. For anyone looking for the same answer this is how i did it: Step 1: as "administrator" go into the user profile of your mod/super mod and make them an Administrator as additional users only. Step 2: When you save their profile you will see in Update or Add Administrator Permissions at the top of the screen. Go there to choose which sections of the admin control panel you want the mods to have access to. Step 3 (optional): There is a risk doing this. That the mods you give access to alter user settings to; they will be able to change their own user titles and worse they can change the administrators user settings. To fix this you can alter the config.php file in accordance with the information from this thread: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=133699 |
