Allow me to clarify:

I am running a single installation / instance of vB on a single server etc. By private forums I meant that I have added additional forums within the same site that are only viewable / accessible to some usergroup(s).

Thus I need a method of adding users appropriately to these selective groups. One method I see supported in the base install is the use of Usergroup Leaders to approve join requests to public groups. In essence I would like to do two things:

- Promote requesting access to specific usergroups at registration (rather than later in UserCP)
- If using a "Promo Code" or "Password" method such that the user needs to know a unique code to join the group - that they skip the request phase and automatically are added to the group
