The same thing happened when I converted to vB from SMF, except that my account was fine after requesting my password be reset. To 'unban' everyone else, delete the imported usergroups [active and inactive]. The cause of the problem is that the imported users are put in a usergroup that has no permissions. Therefore, when they try to view the forums, they get a banned message. I hope this helps.
Obviously this will have to be done after you regain access to the forums, but with the steps provided by the person above me, that shouldn't be hard. =)
