Take a look at my quick reply box in threads.

Ever since upgrading to 3.7.8 it has decreased width wise and is now very small. In posting threads replys in advanced mode it is smaller again too ?

Any ideas on how to fix this?

It's covered in the discussions over at vb.com. This is one of the issues they specifically mention about updating your templates.

3.7.8 isn't out yet ?

You can update your templates by viewing the changes in the styles admin.
