I have a forum about all different aspects of IT development.
Right now everything is under different sub-forums.

What I want to do is install multiple VBulletins on the same domain(ny-dev.com), but make sub-domains for each of them
Example: coding.ny-dev.com, design.ny-dev.com and so forth.

I want to take existing posts from specific forum categories and dispurse them to the appropriate sub-domain's forum.

Can someone help me out with a DETAILED how to on how to achieve this?

Thank you so much for your support in advance.

First you'd have to have a vB license for each of the sub domains, then you'd have to figure out a way that they all share a common database so that threads could parse through appropriately.

Why not just use redirects to the forums... So coding.domain.com goes to domain.com/forums/forumid32/index.php?

Not as 'spiffy' as your solution but your solution is expensive, if not impossible

if u do the redirects you won't have to buy the extra licenses.

Why in the world would I have to pay for new licenses when I'm installing the multiple instances on the SAME domain?
Is this confirmed?

All you would have to do is forward the domains to those subforums. I'll review the Vbulletin T.O.S. In a second, but I believe you need one vbulletin lisence per installation.

Edit!- I was close enough-

vBulletin license grants you the right to run one instance (a single installation) of the Software on one web server and one web site for each license purchased. Each license may power one instance of the Software on one domain. For each installed instance of the Software, a separate license is required. Modifications to the Software or database to circumvent the one-license-one-board rule are prohibited.

To pull something out of there so you don't have to read it all-

vBulletin license grants you the right to run one instance (a single installation) of the Software on one web server and one web site for each license purchased.
