How 2 limit post display content to first 100 characters for Unregistered / Not Log

I want to offer a teaser of Forum content to Guests by limiting display of post content to first N characters (e.g. 100) followed by ellipsis, e.g.:

blah blah to N characters...

For the Unregistered Group only.

Is there an existing hack that can handle this?

There is a hack that can say right, you can only look at so many threads/posts then you must register.

Thanks JamieLee - Any chance you can post a URL or a keyword phrase that may help me locate it? This could also do the job altho not quite like the following:

Meanwhile I've emailed gio~logist since it looks like he may have built a hack for 3.5.x that purports to limit post length for the Unregistered UserGroup.

I'm hoping he can hack it for 3.6.7 PL1
