Is there ha public mod for vbulletin.org style mod posts?
Hi, I know I shouldn't probabilly post this, but after spending over 6 hours looking on 3.5 and 3.6 sections I still couldn't find a hack which would make the first post of a selected subforum look like the ones here for modifications.
By this I mean a hack which makes the 1st posts of a selected subforum to lokk like this (any mod would do). I'm pretty sure I've seen a modification like this but can't find it. I would appreciate your help greatly. Thank you ^^ |

For the most part, it can be done with just a simple template mod. Surround the whole postbit in a conditional:
Code:
<if condition="$post[postcount]==1"><else /></if> |

Ahhhhh so annoying can't find the hack you mention even though I've seen it around too.
Regarding the conditional thanks a lot gave me a great Idea for the modification. Just wondering, <if> </if> are fully evaluated by the server if the condition is not true? I ask this because if i make the </ else> fairly edited would make a large template... For example: i have <if bablabla>111111111</ else>222222222</if> if bablabla is not true, the server ignores all the ones straright away and goes for the </ else> Do large templates affect greatly on the server's performance? Thx for the help, (I'm repeating my self but...) it gave me good ideas ^^ |

Those are kind of technical questions that I can't really answer, but my experience is that it's perfectly fine to use conditionals to create 3 entire versions of a template. My forumdisplay_x_* templates all have 3 versions: 1 for forumhome, 1 for forumdisplay, and another for the user CP.

<if> are evaluated on the server, as your browser would not understand them as they are not standard HTML.

Thank you Marco van Herwaarden and WetWired. Very useful help, I hope I'll have the time soon to get the edits rolling ^^
