The buttons themselves actually aren't the main issue to me, given the PSDs and fonts you included I could just make them myself. The main things to me are the various template revisions and stuff, to activate things like multi-quote, the AJAX rep-giving popup, etc., since I myself don't know much about how to revert/re-code templates like that.
I'd like to see a new version of this as well (3.6.5).
Make the donate button clear and I'll be happy to send some $ your way.
ok cool, thank you.... look at my avatar at the top of this page on the right "About developer" under that you'll see a link to my paypal email, it's an easy thing to donate after that cheers
i can wait for this style for version 3.6.5 ~ i like this design alot alot..~
pls let me know when its up ok?
You could use it now, set 'ignore style version' upon import and make your own buttons, i will be doing an update for this skin for a later version of vB
b6gm6n, I just donated $5 to you for the work you put into this classic skin a while back. However, I'm also (like others) still desperately waiting for that 3.6.x update, so I pledge to donate an additional $10 once you finish your full update of the skin. Selfish-seeming, I know, but it seems to be the only way I can try to coax you to get working on iB2, since I'd rather not have to switch to Chestnut or some similar style.
Thanks iRua, very nice... i also want to start this update - I will, in fact I'll install on my test rig and start doing the ideas and updates for iB2 this evening, it'll take some time to complete... if there's anything you liked about the skin or really hated then let me know...
The main thing I like a lot about the skin is its simple, "clean" feel, designing with tables, borders, and background shades instead of an over-use of images. It's annoying to me when styles use image buttons as the links in the navbar, because even with the PSD files, it's a pain to add custom links to the bar. Having not too many images also makes the load-time/bandwidth cost easier for both the users and me as an admin. Some other styles do go too far in the opposite direction, making styles so simple and image-less that they're just bland, but yours strikes a very nice median.
There are a few things that could be improved though. The Report and Reputation buttons in the bottom left of each post are a little confusing to new users, as some have clicked the instead of the , thinking the R stands for Reputation, and have ended up accidentally making a report to me. I dunno how you could make those buttons a little clearer, but there's probably a way, maybe switching the X to a usual +/- sign or something. The other thing that could corrected is how, as opposed to with other styles, the icon next to sub-forums doesn't change appearance at all when there are new posts there. I understand if you don't want to mess up the color scheme by having it turn orange or something, but you could still have it maybe become darker, or green like the big regular forum icons, when the sub-forum gets new posts. It might be nice to have a choice between having the style fixed or fluid too.
