This mod will enable you to convert a forum into a diary of weblog (blog) forum. A diary or blog can be started by any user who has permissions to post in the forum and only the author of the diary is able to post entries.

The autor of the diary is able to protect the diary with a password so that only users (also guests) who know the password are able to view the diary or blog.

This mod may contain some bugs as I did not yet test it extensively. Please let me know if you find any bugs and I will work on it. Feature requests are also verry welcome!

- Diary Thumbnails (professional, using the vBulletin Avatar thumbnail management system)

- Comments page (comments per diary/blog entry)
- Customized Diary/Blog template wich shows the post date for diaries and entry title for blogs in a <h2> tag.

This mod makes use of the original vBulletin systems so it will perform on a big high traffic forum. Aprox. 30 hours have been invested in this mod so far. Ofcourse also a lot of study work to get to know the vBulletin systems like Postbit factory and datamanager.

No template edits are needed, all is managed via the plugin system, a onetime install and further configuration from the original vBulletin forum adminpanel.

Please let me know some features you would like. And how should I make the commenting system more visible and understandable. As I don't like it as it's now.

Does anyone have an example of the best working layout for diaries? (top sites)?

Firstly plz fix all the bugs/uncached template

Some Request:
-Image/Avtar thumnail for each Blog.
-Last Blog entry will shown at Bloglisting page.
-Ability to link external blog -MySpace etc.
-Intigration with flickr.
-Add users blog link at users profile.

I have installed this and it seems to work okay except I thought there was a way it oculd be protected as in password and I've tested it with a test account I have and the only way it can be protected is if you go to the forum manager and do it yourself. Is there not an option for the AUTHOR of the journal to set this themselves so that they can set it to that ?? And, are you suppose to have permissions for usergroups ?? How are you suppose to specify the blogs with users, kwim ??

Hi!

I will rebuild this from scratch. I developed a totally new datamanager for this mod, but in my later developments I learned that wasn't needed at all.

So I will try again and make it better. However, the blog option will go. It will be a pure Diary mod as that is what my users want.

Could you please provide me with an example of the best Diary layout?

My users deserve the best

So I will redevelop the mod from scratch. However, I need some feedback on how a diary should look.

I am not a diary writer myself at all, so I can't really imagine what would be nice to have and how it should look and function.

Is there any diary service on the internet with 100.000+ users?

Is it me or is there no installation instructions?

I already uploaded the plugin and uploaded the files but is the only option
via forum manager to select weblog or dairy?
