Make Post Count Unique for that post

This might be a little tricky to explain what I am looking for but I will give it a try.

When you make your first post on a forum your post count is obviously "1". WHen you make a second post it changes to "2" (duh). But what I am looking for is to have the post count from the first post remain "1" and the second to be "2" so on and so forth.

That way you can look back at a post and see that was you 926th post, even though your total count is 5825 (for example).

Does anything like that exist and I just can't find it?

I may be way off, and am completley new to coding, but it sounds you just need it to make a static of the users post count that doesn't update. So Member A has 200 posts when he posts his 201st it takes that value and displays it.

Or create a post ID column in mysql to keep a running total.

I have some spare time later in the week, I'll look at making something like this to be my first hack. I'll keep you updated. If someone experienced in coding has some suggestions, that'd be great.
