Show a forums parent in search..
In the search results to the far right where a posts forum is listed, would it be possible to change it to list : parent > forum
Reason I ask, I run a car forum (www.fiatforum.com) and we have the same 3 categories for each car (General, Technical & Styling) Ie: Bravo > General > Technical > Styling Punto > General etc etc. Your search results however only give you the last bit, which means you aren't sure which car you are looking at unless you actually click the post (not ideal)... Is this a simple thing, or will it require a lot of work? Thanks, Ben |

Can no one help? We even have the same problem on here If something is in 'Modification Requests' you dont know which vb its for unless you load it up...
Someone somewhere must have fixed this!! |

I need this mod too, I'm sure its something simple that can be done to the search.php file.

I would love it too - however I dont think its as easy as it might appear.

In reality though, all it needs is a single join on the forum_parentid to get the name of the parent... if there is no parent, it's obviously top level, but if there is - then it can display this.... |

I know this is a year-old thread (since it was last posted in), but I thought I'd bump it because I'm looking to do the same thing (also for a car forum).
Any ideas? |
