Hey VB.org,
I posted this thread a few months ago, but got no response, so I'm trying it again, especially after I read that someone had the same problem and was able to fix it. Basically, the threadviews to my threads are always the total replies +1. So, if theres 10 replies, it would show up as 11 views. I Googled my problem and found this page: http://forums.steelersfever.com/showthread.php?p=206664 I pm'ed the admin who found the fix, but have not gotten a response from him. Can anyone help? Should I run some kind of query? Dave |

Thanks, but that didn't do the trick.
I got a response from the person who had the same problem and fixed it. His advice didn't do the trick either. His advice was: Sure, just go to the ACP and under Maintenance click Repair / Optimize tables then select threadviews and make sure both options are selected as yes, (I think they are by default) and click continue. I have a big board (with about 15k members) and my forum looks just horrible. Here's an example of how bad it looks when the views counter isn't working: http://aznraps.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=78 Any more ideas would be appreciated, I'm quite frustrated with this minor bug. |

Try this
ACP > vBulletin Options > Server Settings and Optimization Options > Update Thread Views Immediately > Set to Yes Let us know |

Hm, this didn't work but it is a step in the right direction. I found that this was set to "off". Is there any other threadview setting? I tried optimizing the threadviews table as well, to no avail.

THis is either a problem with ur vb copy, some vb plugin, or a template.
ACP > vBulletin Options > Server Settings and Optimization Options > Update Thread Views Immediately Should be set to no for maximizing server performance. (unless you want to have a great load of queries, depending on your forum size) |

Thank you, I was able to get the thread views to work from doing one of the queries. I'm not too sure if it works b/c I set the threadviews to update immediately.. my server ending up getting really laggy today, with server loads of 3.00+. So, I'm going to disable it and hope for the best.
How often do the threadview counters update themselves with that option off? WOW.. i figured out the problem. my VB has had this problem from the early days when it was trying to access .php and .php4 files (the old update system from the 2.0 days caused this). i got rid of my .php4 files thinking by upgrading to 3.6.x, that it would go away. WRONG. my statistics haven't been counting for months, as the queries would search for .php4 files. yikes.. |

If you think about it it makes sense.
