sort posts nightmare
Hi,
i seem to be having problems with the sorting of posts within threads. I am running some tests posts on my forum, basically i started the thread as the administrator, logged out and logged back in as a test user. Then i replied to that thread as the test user, however the posts are sorted in order of the poster, which is confusing, i.e the test users response is now at the top and the administrators post is now at the bottom, HOWEVER when i log in as the administrator eveyrthing is back to normal, i.e. the administrators post at the top and the test user's response at the bottom, i have tried all the options, sorted it this way and that way, nothing is working, please advise |

You will not believe how easy it was to solve this problem, so i am sharing how i solve dit in case any other poor soul comes across a similar problem, the solution is simnple but a needle in the haystack.
Basically in the admin control panel OPTIONS for vbulletin, where it says user registration options, there are a list of defaiult settings you can set for new users. At the bottom, by defualt the thread display is set to "Linear mode, newest post first" when in all honesty most of us familiar with forums read the OLD POST FIRST!, so just change that to "Linear mode oldest post first", see attachment. Good day! |
