Okay.. my website is www.mmowned.com
my competitors website is www.onlinegamehacker.com .. pretty much he steals all the content on my site.. but at least he gives credit to my site.. he cheats topsite systems and copies lots of new additions I make to my site, I made it so you have to register to view links and pictures but i want text content visible to all (for SEO reasons)..

But now he made his webcrawler register as a member... What can I do to prevent this?

here are tons of examples..

I'm pretty sure you can make content visible to search engines but not guests. There is a hack somewhere or something.

I got banned from google because I had a hidden footer full of keywords.

wouldn't matter... your content is publicly visible.

I feel i haven't broken any rules the post is owned by the poster not your website. I have given credit to your site and the poster. (I bet you get quite a few hits a day from OGH)

also to answer you question there is no real way to stop it.... Plus your in the exploits/hacking business so you should know...

Stifler, for most of my unique articles I don't want others to publish I put a disclaimer in front of them saying they can quote first 2 phrases (I have them in blue) and then link to the article. This way I can always get them for stealing my content. And if you're not getting to anything with the one "borrowing" content from you, get to the host and then maybe even further.

thats if each poster puts up a disclaimer. If the topic is publicly viewable then its property of the poster...

unless you make guests agree to a disclaimer before viewing any content, and add something in your registration disclaimer that any topics posted in X forum are property of mmowned.

Do you really want to "own" your users posts. Since we're all legal experts here that would make you responsible for any and all content they post, and advice taken from those posts now makes you responsible right?
