I’m trying to figure out who buys a cocktail/bartending book. I know that many sell each year but I can’t figure out who is buying them.

Does a cocktail book that has a large variety of soda-pop cocktails sound appealing to anyone?

As a Barman i have about 4, its impossible to remember a lot but so long as you remember the ones most popular in your area (or the ones that appeal to women).You're pretty right. A good cocktail book will have a picture as a reference. To make your own custom one is pretty simple. Pick a theme,then style, main ingredient, acccompanying ingredients and then come up with some creative way of serving them and you are good to go.

Another good way is to pick 5 you like, make them, then repeat again and again until you can do them with your eyes closed. Then pick another 5, repeat process. The key thing to cock tale is choice of spirits. Pick quality alcohol ...otherwise all you are making is colorful rotgut hooch.
