Code changing to username in post?

Hello,

I am looking for a code/hack/plugin/etc that can do the following:

When you enter for example a userid of a member of the board...it automatically shows the username of that particular user when you view the post. (Not the person viewing the post...but the username of the person with that userid).

The reason I am looking for this is:
On the board I'm on we need to have a list of usernames that are in an rpg (along with their lvls etc).
Currently when someone has their username changed...it constantly needs to manually updated in that list.

So it would be cool and very handy to be able to have their names be automatically updated in the post whenever their username changes.

If it were possible to somehow have it linked to their user-id and having that in a code in the post....and if that would automatically retrieve the current username of the people and show those in the post....then it would help out a great deal to always keep the lists up-to-date.
(Doing it manually causes a lot of outdated list and misunderstandings).

Does anyone know if a code/plugin/hack/etc for such an option exists?
Or could anyone make a code for that?

It would be greatly appreciated. (I think I'm not the only one searching for this although it seems no-one else had this idea before.)
