attaching a file to a thread via myadmin

I moved my site and a lot of old files were corrupted in the move. I now find it impossible to change or upload attachments in old threads. When I hit the attach button it looks as if it is actually doing somethign but the file is not actually uploaded.

Is there anything I should check?

In the meantime, is it possible to attach a file to an specific thread via php-myadmin? How?
