You should advertise that you're looking for advertisers. That's worked for me in the past.

I usually just make an add that's a little flashy (but not too flashy), that says "Did you notice this add? Your customers will, too. Click here to learn more about becoming a sponsor."

One last tip: people feel better about parting with their money when you call them sponsors, not advertisers. When you refer to your advertisers on your site, ask your members to support your "sponsors" by checking out what they have to say.
