In some sense you can if the owner allows it too happen. There are swear filters and rules. If you allow the users to run amock cursing and hiding behind freedom of speech all you will have is anarchy and un-needed headaches / drama.

Plus you will lose the mature minded adult registrants and members. There are enough spots on the internet for children to curse in and flame openly.

Why create another, or allows users to verbally abuse what you created?
Sorry didnt mean to preach, maybe im just an old fart who knows better.

Visually, it's a nice looking site and the forum columns hack works nicely with it but subject matter wise I won't be back .
the name came from a style of music here in england. Scouse House is its birth name in the UK as it is huge in the northwest, however it does originate from australia (known as NRG music).

Donk is a type of scouse house, a little bit harder than scouse and a lot better. That is how we have the term Donked.

The website was made after i spent a weekend in wigan and absolutely loved the clubbing scene. The music played in the northeast was nothing like what they have in the northwest.

The donked website has transformed the full clubbing scene up here in the northeast after i got together with a night club owner using the website to promote his club (we gave the nightclub the busiest nights it ever had - pulling in 7000 people over 2 nights). I now have nightclubs contacting me every other week to promote events for them.

the website still makes money for me regardless of the content. like i say tho the adult humour is down to the members mainly - its pointless trying to get members to change there ways - they would just leave the site. if you cant beat them, join them.

I been in the music industry for 10 years and have produced quite a few tracks. I deal with many clubs, djays and so on. Alot of house / Trance,

If you plan on doing promotions perhaps some professionalism / curse filtering will give you a better rep in the industry. But heck what do I know I suceeded in the business without the foul language and been in it for many years covering NYC and Miami.

What you must understand when you create such a site members will leave and others will come. It is better to have quality members than crappy members for the sake of keeping members. Not saying your members are crappy, but letting members run around foul mouth is like a teenage romper room.

No one is saying you cant do that. But maybe you should create a privately group in a private forum out of the public view so it doesnt turn off alot of would be respectful clients and advertisers?

I reserve such a private section with no rules privelages for Elite donating members only.

You say "Bah" you will make enough from it without filtering the curses.
Ofcourse you may make some, it's your site to do as you wish.

Why not profit from everyone rather than the few. When it comes to sites, I like to make sure I get paid from all angles and the owner, staff and rules control the site.

Not the other way around.

i understand what you are saying. I do make quite a bit of money from the site over 1000 GBP per month just for working with two clubs (depending on what needs doing).

The site will be shaped up over the next few weeks as i am bringing in a design section to promote my design skills. After reading through some of the feedback i think i will remove the swearing from the site, maybe not in peoples posts but at least from the welcome message and the forum category descriptions

Cheers
