help with vbplaza/vbbux config

I have VBplaza/vbbux installed and I know it can meet my needs, I just don't know how to get it how I want it.

-I would like for members to get 1 point for every new thread and 1 point for every reply

-I would like the 'donate' feature.

That is ALL I want, nothing more, nothing less. I pay my members to post, so when they reach 'x' posts/points, they pm me and I manually remove the points they are spending to get paid.

I've gone into 'Mass forum settings' and set things how I want, yet it seems that people's bux counts aren't going up anymore.

any help would be appreciated.
