vBSEO preventing downloads
vBSEO is withholding download access until customers submit detailed contact information, some of which is required but none of their business.
Is this ethical that the company changes the terms of sale (for current licenced customers) at their discretion? |

Well, when you download a new version they could require that you agree to a new version of their license. Jelsoft already does this every time you download vBulletin. Only if you had downloaded vBulletin 2.2.0 would you still be able to be held to that agreement, if you downloaded 3.6.2 you'd have agreeed to the new license and be bound by it.
They most likely havent changed anything, most licenses have a clause that stipulates that they can change the terms at any time. I personally dont see a problem with this, on any grounds. If you personally do not like what they are doing, pack up and move on. |
