Hi there, this may sound a bit weird but I am hoping someone can help me, I will explain best I can in the hope someone can help

What it is, is that I had the edited by turned on so that when someone edited a message it showed up on the post, I have since turned this off and was wondering if there is anyway I can get rid of the edited by messages that are on the posts that were edited before I turned the edited by off

I hope that is understandable and any help is appreciated

Usergroup Options > Pick your usergroup
And it should be there in the middle that says
Edited by

Yes thats what I have done, but what I was wondering is all the posts that where edited before I turned it off will now say underneath edited by username and the date, can I get rid of that at all or is that there permanent?

I believe you could do it by running an SQL query ;

UPDATE editlog SET reason = ' ';

This isn't tested so I would advise you to backup that table first, just in case.

Thanks for that, I will backup and give it a try and will let you know how I get on

Just done it and all it's doing is keeping the edited by message there ad putting a reason next to it.

Is there a query that can be run that will completely remove the edited by message? as that is what I am looking for, or is that not possible
