Display the original post at the top of each page

I'm hoping someone can help me out. I'm trying to set up a community for some software that I write. Currently, I have my user-submitted skins forums and my support forum kind of all blended into one.

I was wondering if someone could point me to a module that would display the first post of a topic at the top of each page (with any custom formatting that I set up), similar to how the "Add-Ons" section of this site works. I was also wondering if there was any way I could set it up so that subforum will not appear with the rest of my forums, but rather through a separate link.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
