If i update my file to the latest version of VB i will loose the files mods i have made is their away to update but keep these without redoing them as VB seem to release a newer version every week.

You cannot update to the latest files and keep any file edits without re-doing them to the new files - that's a physical impossibility, one contradicts the other.
