The Ultimate Event Modification

Hey guyz,

Some of you have mentioned how great it would be to have the Event Attendance Hack and the Event Forms Hack compatible with each other...

I think this would be so awesome... I'm hoping that this thread will either cause one of the authors to make it compatible, or is someone gets permission to make their own version that includes elements of both of these hacks.

What it would do
It would allow members to create a thread in the event forum/s, select a date from a dropdown, and upon submitting the post, it will automatically create a calender entry for that date, with the 'thread title' as the event description with a link to the thread, a link underneath with 'i'm attending this event' and a title 'Who's Attending', under 'Whos Attending' will be the list of members that clicked the 'i'm attending' link. This should have a section in the ACP for edit functionality, like defining a member number to get the calender permissions off... For example, I wouldn't allow members to create calender entries, but would expect the attendance system to bypass that permission to create the calender entry based on the thread.

Members would then be able to click the link in the calender entry to register that they are coming, this will add there name to the list at the bottom of the calender entry.

Also, if this would put the list of events a person is attending in their user profile. This would only exist for as long as they have an upcoming event that they have registered for.

With 'Upcoming Events' on forum home, is it could list the event [as usual] and then in brackets have the number of people attending. eg) Meet & Greet (5)

As of now I have to manually link my polls to my event-forum. It's not a huge deal, but it would be nice if something did this through the admin or forum instaed. Does anyone know about a program that does this or does anyone know how to make one?

If someone doesn't know what I'm talking about and would like to see what i mean, feel free to check out my polled event-forum. Just type username:test & password: test. Just don't vote, please.

Hmm... not sure if this actually worked or not... all i can say is that I have my events linked to my forums with poll ability... not quite sure how lol *shrug* ... it's exactly what i wanted... I'm happy... don't know if that'll work for anyone else. ... anyway, I'm removing the test feature on my site now.
