In the individual moderator settings you can set them to any level from just allowing them to edit to allowing them to ban a members username, i have copied thelist below of options you have in the area I directed you to above:
Forum (Also applies to child forums) Moderator Username Help Post / Thread Permissions Can Edit Posts Yes No Can Delete Posts Yes No Can Physically Delete Posts (Completely removes the post from the database) Yes No Can Open / Close Threads Yes No Can Edit Threads Yes No Can Manage Threads Yes No Can Edit Polls Yes No Help Forum Permissions Can Post Announcements Yes No Can Moderate Posts Yes No Can Moderate Attachments Yes No Can Mass-Move Threads Yes No Can Mass-Prune Threads Yes No Can Set Forum Password Yes No Help User Permissions Can View IP Addresses Yes No Can View Whole User Profile (but not edit) Yes No Can Ban Users Yes No Can Restore Banned Users Yes No Can Edit User Signatures Yes No Can Edit User Avatars Yes No Can Edit User Profile Pictures Yes No Can Edit User Reputation Comments Yes No Help Email Preferences Receive Email When a New Thread is Created Yes No Receive Email When a New Post is Created Yes No You can give them as much or as little power as you wish this way but it is time consuming and you must have a bit of patience to get through it all depending on how many moderators you have and how many forums you have.
