I think it's a tad cheap that it's all done through a thread. Wouldn't it be better to just submit a website? It's got to get annoying for that poor staff member that has to comb through the BOTM Thread and write down each and every website that was voted for and how many times.

ultimately, a change that doesn't require oodles of time to bring into effect is to make the BOTM of vb.org a SOTM in which all vBulletin powered products/pages/plugins collectively are judgable.
People spend hours, days, weeks and/or even months making vBulletin add-on's only to be told that they're not allowered to count on either site when this is primarily what this site is for. I for one have worked hard on the next reincarnation of my site and ultimately would like to submit it here when i release it, but only if all of my work will be recognised as opposed to how good i am skinning the stock product. |

That's true. We should seperate our BOTM from vB.com's. Judging the overall site -- including all its tweaks and modifications would be a great way of doing this.

Yes, we are working on making the contest more "modification" orientated, which means style and code modifications, and also more importantly: how these modifications improve the overall focus of the community.

I think this system must be removed from vb.org because there is already one at vb.com and even that is not so popular at the moment. Instead of BOTM lets focus on Pimp my board. It is way better that way and way origin. |
