How do i make advance skins?

Ok what my question is, is that when making a skin, what do i have to do to make say a set of images appear above a table or something. i'm stuck doing basic skins because i've no idea what to do.

i used a paid skin and looked at the CSS for it and found that one of the images had

url(image/blahblah/blah.gif) repeat top left x

but the thing was that there were three images that were used and only one url code for it.....

basically i would like to know how to put fancy things onto my borders and whatnot.

To do more than can be done with the CSS alone, you need to perform template edits. Depending on what you want to change, is which templates you need to edit.

oh i see, i always thought it was the CSS alone that formed the main part of the skin. i see now, thanks for the help ^_^
