K, then how can I add something similar to a vb forum?
Not interested in the same layout anyway. another question: On the same site I see this just under the navbar after I login. "Hello s3ver it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums?" Its nice, how can I do the same? |

It's part of the "Welcome Messages" in the Welcome Header System.
Go the AdminCP -> vbulletin Options -> Welcome Header System -> Enable Welcome Headers -> Yes Then enable the features you want to use. Further down in the Option page you can look at and edit the Phrases in the various circumstances. In this case, it's Enable Post More Often Message. There's a link to get to the Phrase directly and, after you open the edit box, if you click on Copy Default Text, it will put the default text in the editbox and you can change it to your heart's content. Why ore YOU simple waiting for someone else to do your searching for you?
That's why search engines were invented, so you can find stuff. I did a search using: vbulletin link tabs at top of header and, while I have not yet found this "exact" solution, I did fairly easily find something that should work. It is a product called "Zen Cart". If you go to their site you will see such Links at the top of their forums. The are at: http://www.zen-cart.com/ And, gasp, they have free downloads of their software, and further gasp, it is for vbulletin. Now then say "Zen Cart™" truly is the art of e-commerce; a free, user-friendly, open source shopping cart system." but I say it is a set of addins which will give you tabs at the top of your forums, which you can probably link to where you want. Now if YOU do some further searching with the search criteria I have been using, and there are several others you could use, you could have already found what you want. Further searching would make it likely it is one of the CMS (Content Mangement Systems). There are several available here your could check out. Another is called Mambo, which is available here: http://forum.mamboserver.com/ And going to their site you will see several tabbed links in their header. One final site is: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/ Which has a partner site http://www.codingforums.com/ which has Tabbed Links on the Top of their Header. Dynamicdrive posted the CSS code to make those tabs on their website: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/style/cs...vigation-menu/ Those instructions can be found here: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/style/cs...vigation-menu/ and different Tabs here: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/style/cs...y/category/C1/ But it would require some knowledge on your part of how to integrate it into your header. Now if YOU do/had done some further searching with the search criteria I have been using, and there are several others you could use, you might have already found what you want. Check out what I've listed and the CMS systems available here and pick what you want. Regards, |
