I could have swore I saw a mod a week ago that showed the number of new posts since last visit under Private Messages: Unread 0, Total 0. area. I've been looking for a couple days and can't find anything close.

It would be nice if there was a way to show how many new posts there are before having to click New Posts.

For example in the navbar, it could change the link from plain ol' "New Posts" to "New Posts (12)".

If you wanted to move the total manually to the navbar you could do, just copy and paste the appropriate code in the navbar template.
