License Number Question
A hosting company requires a access code / registration number / license code in order to install and allow me to use vbulletin. Is it not dangerous to give this code or ID to them and why do they need it?

If they are installing your vBulletin for you, then yes you can provide them with the license number; but under no circumstances should you give them the license password.
If they're not isntalling it for you, then no. They do not need it. |

Yes, the licence number is used to enter the installation system.

Then again, if they really new the software, they'd know that it's located in a file
