Not a dumb question at all

I was always told to wait a while before upgrading because of all of the bugs. I guess it is just up to the individual person. I have only had mine for a couple of months and have no intention of upgrading for quite some time.

Sorry, I can't answer the other questions you have, not sure of that myself.
