Maybe Switching From SMF To vBulletin
I started a forum with SMF about 8 months ago. 250 Member and 6000 posts later I'm finding that the SMF forum is just not ranking in the search engines as well as the articles and blogs on my site. It's not even close.
Other than the total lack of ranking (which is sort of the point to having a forum) I'm happy with SMF. I've had to adapt to it's BS, but I've managed just fine. However, if the site can't rank, there is no point. I have to switch. So, has anyone been a long, dedicated user of SMF and switched to vBulletin? If so, how did it go? Most importantly, did you see a significant boost in SE traffic? Brandon |

I made the switch and the only downfall was the lack of being able to import passwords into vB. I personally think vB has the worst admin setup of SMF, IPB, and vB. I find it very dark and combersome but it gets the job done. I have three sites and use each of the three mentioned boards and prefer vB's features, IPB's looks, and SMF's cost

I was shocked at how few features smf had, I couldn't stand it. the switch went off very smoothly once I had the correct info plugged in. I love vB.
