splitting a large board into two

Hi all, can someone tell me if i can use the same db for 2 seperate boards on seperate servers, ill explain, we have 3 servers a p4 for db a big opteron for webserver, and a shiny new dual p4 with fast disks...

we have a large forum with over 400gb of attachments, the forum has 2 main sections, a free section with 20% attachments and 80% of our traffic and a premium section with 80% attachments and 20% traffic.

we want to seperate the sections onto the seperate servers, i know this will mean 2 licences, and thats not an issue, but im not sure how to do it...

any help would be great.
