Black and Gold 3.6 Details »» | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
As promised, I have ported over my popular Black and Gold style yet again from vB 3.5 to vB 3.6, and I have also made some minor changes to it. The biggest changes were the addition of a totally new button set and totally new IM icons.
As always, please let me know of any issues with the style - I tested it pretty thoroughly prior to releasing it, and I wasn't able to find anything out of place. However, I have missed things before, so please don't hesitate to inform me of it.. Yup, your issues look exactly like the ones we're having.

I don't know why the postbits would be aligned improperly - I made only minimal changes to those templates. As for the alignment of the forums on the homepage, there is always going to be a slight variation due to the nature of splitting the tables all apart. However, if you're seeing a big gap, I think it might be a browser dependent issue.

If I get some time I'll do some comparison and testing with the default one, Andrew. Thanks.

Forum listing still off on firefox, although not as bad. Posts are all lined up on firefox.
None of the issues are on default style. Could this be related to the problem? http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=200219 |

No - When I do major upgrades to my styles, I start with a fresh vBulletin style for the proper version and build them from the ground up again.

I'm missing a ton of images in it. Loads of little red squares all over. It looks fine in FF and not fine in IE or IE7.
3 of 4 styles doing this. Not sure what is going on. Unzipped and uploaded them to the images folder. |

Did you change the relative image paths to point directly to the images folders in the style options ? That will usually fix a lot of image problems when you're using mods that operate in a different directory.

No I didn't and to be honest I am slightly clueless as to where you would do that at.
My site manager is out of town and I figured I could screw anything up by adding a few styles I liked. Is there a doc on how to do that anywhere or a quick explaination of where the paths that need to be changed are? I can follow instruction, but I have no real experience with the board setup. It just looked simple to install a style...hehe I should have known better. I looked around in the xml file and it looks like most of the mods are looking in /images/[Mod]/etc etc.. and my forum is in /community/images |

You don't need to change anything in the .XML file - All of the image paths can be changed from the Style Manager in the AdminCP.

Yeah I figured that out and changed the path and it still can't find any of the buttons etc, even though the paths are correct.
Weird thing is that I can revert them and they show the default icons without /community in the path. One thing I did notice is that alot of the image files etc in all the styles that aren't working have spaces in the naming. The style that works has no blank spacing and uses _ to separate. Forgive my ignorance, but Linux doesn't recognize blank space does it? |
