vbJrnl What it does: After installing vbJournal Lite 1.1b, I was very dissatisfied. It was by no means "lite", the default HTML templates were awful, the journal didn't match vBulletin's visual design, and there was a lot of redundant template editing. vbJrnl is a lightweight journal system that piggybacks off vBulletin's forum and thread systems.
No screenshot is available BECAUSE vbJrnl looks just like any other of your forums, but functional differences are:
Only one thread/journal per user will be allowed in your new journals forum.
The thread title is forced to be "[Username]'s Journal".
Only the person who started the thread can reply to it (create a new entry).
Current Version: 0.9
Future versions are outlined in the text file.
If you use this hack, please click install. New versions are coming, and I'd like to let you know about them. Thank you.
Have fun, and please comment!

And for coding standards I myself opted to make my own instead of use the vbJournal Lite. I myself do have standards with coding.
i agree, nick is only releasing anthor sysytem because he dosent like vBjournal lite or at least some parts of it , and i have to admit, it has alot of templates to add .
im in the same boat with neo, im doing my own journal system, i cant wait on vb journal lite to be upgraded cause i need coments and other fetures i just think arent ganna happen in a release any time soon.
Originally posted by nicksaunders then don't download it. it is my prerogative to be dissatisfied, and it is my prerogative to release a hack that i believe is better.
now to pick you each apart individually. link: it's a forum, sure...but it is a forum with certain NECESSARY modifications to allow it to serve more as a collection of journals than a forum. as for being easy...i don't believe i ever said otherwise. it just makes more sense, that's all. as a screenshot, there is absolutely no reason. this hack is all about functionality. it LOOKS just like an ordinary forum. DrkFusion: i was dissatisfied because the html code sucks (go ahead, run it through w3c.org :P) and was too much of a hassle to fix. furthermore, it didn't match the style of vBulletin and would not have without extensive modification. joeboo: all i have to say is that vbJrnl is not dissatisfied; its author was.
and to all of you...if you don't like the hack, don't install it and don't post in my thread. others' opinions may vary. i didn't leave rude comments (which would have been truthful, btw) in vbJournal's thread, so you can kindly leave your ignorant rude comments out of mine. thank you.
What when? uhhhh when did I say that.
I just wanted to know how you could be satisfied of it, and I said this seems to me dissatisfying, because well this doesn't really seem like a real journal system, more like new threads, anyways, I didn't want to start ++++ with anyone, but I did, though, I am sorry if you were dissatisfied with my dissatisfied comment of your dissatisfactory opinion.

hey man, he gave his opinion about VB Journal, and we can give OUR opinion about HIS journal. We are all entitled to our opinions

First of its great you made a journal and released it to vB.org and a good reason why you did it.

Still here's a tip you can take it or leave it but if you'd left out the bit quoted above I think you might have got a better reaction from other users here because basically it just looks like your slagging off his hack to try and make your's look better.
Anyway let's end on a good point I'm looking forward to seeing where you take this style of journal.
Lite will usually mean that the hack has a bigger brother around or on the way and some times the Lites the free version with you having to pay for the Pro version. Generally the Lite version has less functions/abilitys than the Pro version. That a good enough description?
Just like my Vb Image gallery Lite, there had been 3 majopr bugs found, and i am fixing it, and the next version is a more advanced version that is coming out with the release of vb3.
