Will Jelsoft ever make their own CMS? It could use the plugin system of 3.5.0.

I'm reasonably certain that Joomla will get there within a few months. With the impending multi-db release of vBridge, it's already almost there now, just need to pick up the pace on overall features development. The latter problem is actually what led me to this thread, as I really worry that I won't be able to do much with Joomla at this time.

And conversely, Drupal has huge potential in my opinion, but the technical obstacles to integration are NOTHING compared with their closed-minded attitudes towards vBulletin. Tragic, really.

What about vbPortal? I haven't really looked into that much yet.
if you would like to know more about vbportal, send me a pm

I'm currently looking for a CMS that has user database integration with vBulletin, as well as some form of multi-site deployment capability.

I run gaming news and community websites, on separate domains, but all sharing one forum. What I require for these different sites are shared content, shared users, and the ability to control which content appears on which site/domain, as well as individual themes for each site.

Seems like I'm asking for too much, can't find any CMS that supports these requirements.

Currently I'm running Mambo, and the obvious choice would be to upgrade to Joomla. However I find the article categorization system too clumsy and inflexible (section > category > article). There are workarounds, but then it doesn't become intuitive to new staff writers. Furthermore, there's not much to speak of in terms of user group control. Although the developer of vBridge has said that it is possible to sync multiple copies of Joomla to one vBulletin, I suspect that is an unwieldy solution.

The other CMS I've been investigating is Drupal. I've only started to look at it about 3 or 4 days ago, and I'm quite impressed so far, especially with Taxonomy, the module which control categorization. It's ideal for my needs as a news site. I've not yet tested out the vB bridge for Drupal (no local box to test it on, and I've got only one license), and I've also have no clue how to get the multi-site deployment up in my case, so it's on hold here.

Does anyone else have any suggestions for a good CMS that fits my criteria, or could give me some help with Drupal?

There are plans in the works, and as Kier said in his interview with TAZ now that 3.5 is here it will be easier for them to develop secondary products to vBulletin for "plugging in"

Thier tempalte system is identical to vBulletin (To the eye anyways.). The admin panel has a ton of vBulletini nfluence. I didn't go with it because of the pricce though.
Oh wow, that template system is really similar to vB's.... that alone has got me interested....
