No they dont, phpinclude templates were style specific.

Its a shame, but oh well.

hmm, that's a bad change in my eyes.

ok, you can still get the same thing, by getting the styleid within the hook, but that's not a fine way, to declare if cascades

However, if you release a style that needs some global code added, then asking someone to get the styleid and change the code in a plugin isn't going to work.

Bring back phpinclude!

And here I thought that I was being n00bish by thinking that phpinclude_x should be left in there.
